As someone who has struggled with social anxiety for a long time, the industry really helped me to discover a side of myself that is more empowered and confident.

What was your first job like?
My first job was at a very supportive club where the long term employees felt like a family. It was a great way to ease into the industry.
Whats one piece of advice you can give to someone thinking about starting in the industry?
The sex industry can be a slippery slope into bad situations or decisions so just be aware of it and be cautious. Besides that, enjoy it. There are so many amazing people in the industry and it’s a lot of fun.
What would it take for you to stay in the industry and what would have to happen for you to leave?
I am actually taking a break from the industry currently due to how draining it can be but it’ll be great to go back once I’m ready.
What would you say to people who think that this is not a real job?
Give it a go for about 2 weeks and get back to me. If you haven’t changed your opinion, I’ll be genuinely surprised.
How do you re-energise outside of work?
I find a lot of enjoyment in exercise like going to the gym, pole dancing and yoga
How do you avoid burnout?
By taking a break when I need to and allowing myself to complain about the hard aspects
It is inevitable at times to avoid bad situations at work. Have you ever had a bad experience at work and how did you manage it?
I have but thanks to the venue I had access to a security guard who took care of the situation.
Do you feel the need to keep your physical appearance well maintained at all times?
I definitely feel pressure in that aspect
What lengths do you go to to maintain your appearance and how much would you spend?
With outfits, shoes, hair and nail maintenance, tan, gym and pole memberships Probably around $400 a month
Do you make your own costumes or do you outsource them? What is your go to costume/outfit of choice?
I typically outsource them although I did get my housemate to make me a series of Christmas outfits that I absolutely loved. Other than that, my go to would be a deep blue 3 piece lingerie set

I have felt intimidated but never scared

It depends on the situation but it’s always best to stay calm and not accelerate anything and attempt to get support
How does working in the industry affect your dating life?
I didn’t expect to be able to have a dating life but I started seeing a guy who also works in the industry and we’re happily dating now
How did you come out to your family and friends regarding working in the industry?
My friends are super supportive and love what I do so I had no trouble telling them, however I haven’t told my family as we don’t have a very good relationship
What is one positive and one negative you have taken from the industry?
Positive: the amazing support from other members of the sex work industry
Negative: it can be very easy to act ‘fake’ and I had to overcome that
