Is this industry seen as a hobby or a serious career path for you?
I have been working within the Entertainment Industry now for 12 years, which in this time I have dramatically grown and evolved on a personal level whilst transforming my industry identity into an online commercial brand.
What got you started in the Industry and how long have you been in it?
At the time I had recently moved to Sydney and was studying dance and fitness full time. I was struggling to make ends meet working 4 causal jobs whilst studying. My friend recommended I start lingerie waitressing and so I did. I have been apart of the industry now for 12yrs.
Do you have a specific niche within the industry?
I would say just fun and funny social content and 18+ content.
What are the top 3 most important things you have learnt from working within the industry?
1. To value the money I am earning and to save and invest it wisely
2. How to run a business
3. Understanding behavioural patterns in situations and people
Do you have a particular set of skills/ interest or employment outside of the industry?
Certificate 3 and 4 in Fitness
Qualified Makeup Artist
What is the most out there request you have received from a client and how much were they willing to pay?
A stranger offered me $40,000 to fly me to Dubai to sleep with them.
Apart from that I have people request to see my belly button and armpits often on online.
What is something you have said no to doing in the industry?
haha I have said no to so many things over the years and as I’ve grown mentally more comfortable with new areas or as an individual I have become open to exploring new areas.
So I try not to say never anymore.
What are your hard limits or boundaries in the industry?
I don’t provide Escort services
Can you describe how working in the industry makes you feel or how it has impacted your life?
I spent years listening to society which I found condemned me for what I did within the industry instead of me embracing my identity and owning it. Now that I do, I have grown in multiple other areas of my personal and business life.
What was your first job like?
My first job I was nervous, I worked a bikie club house with a few other girls. I didn’t have a bad experience.
Whats one piece of advice you can give to someone thinking about starting in the industry?
To really take a look at why they are entering the industry and what role they want to play within it. To understand that this industry has a ripple affect onto multiple areas of your life and it isn’t just about making money.
Getting started in the Adult Industry
What would it take for you to stay in the industry and what would have to happen for you to leave?
I feel like I will be apart of the industry for a very long time but maybe not doing the same role as I currently am in and more so as a mentor and educator.
What would you say to people who think that this is not a real job?
This is something I have heard for many years. I was told during school I wasn’t smart enough to succeed. Everything I have learnt over the years has been self taught or by working alongside people who are well experienced within their own industry. I believe the industry has a stigma surrounding it that the people within it are not good enough or seem/ treated as of value to society and it’s simply based around non educated stigmas.
How do you re-energise outside of work?
I meditate, go for walks, I get spiritual healings, I listen to personal growth podcasts and audios, I exercise and see a psychologist regularly.
Have you ever had a bad experience at work and how did you manage it?
Yes, I have had a few over the years. I guess in time you notice when situations are arising or environments are escalating to becoming a risk so you change conversations, change locations, leave or avoid certain people at jobs.
Do you feel the need to keep your physical appearance well maintained at all times? I definitely did feel a lot more pressure in that aspect when I was working physical appearance events and being compared for bookings to other girls but now with online content I feel my community is accepting of my looks more.
What lengths do you go to to maintain your appearance and how much would you spend?
With outfits, shoes, hair and nail maintenance, tan, gym and more probably around $1000 a month
What is one positive and one negative you have taken from the industry?
Positive: the amazing opportunities of growth I have achieved over the years and the back bone the industry has helped me acquire to succeed so now I can stand up to support other members of the sex work industry
Negative: the ripple affect of society’s perceptions around my career path that impact my personal life.
