Mistress Arabella

Chloe, also known as Mistress Arabella

Locations you work from
Sydney CBD, NSW.

Is this industry seen as a hobby or a serious career path for you?
2 years ago I retired from full-time Mistressing and it’s rare for me to take on a new submissive. I learnt BDSM inside of the professional realm and only now am I navigating the playful, lifestyle side of kink.

What got you started in the Industry and how long have you been in it?
I have been in the industry for 7 years this year and I began at 18 years old. honestly, I was motivated by the monetary potential, but as I learnt more and more about the core values of BDSM I fell involve with it’s benefits for mind expansion and the exploration of sexuality.

Do you have a specific niche within the industry?
Hmm, I would say that I specialised in more of the sensual side of BDSM. I saw a lot of newbies who wanted to experiment and I loved introducing them to the wide range of different experiences and sensations that BDSM offers.

What are the top 3 most important things you have learnt from working within the industry?
1. Stand your ground and firmly communicate your boundaries and limits before every session as a preframe. Additionally, always ask the client their boundaries and desires for the session too. Never assume that someone wants to do something. Consent is key.
2. To love myself and my body. I really learnt how to embrace the power of my sexual energy inside the industry. The industry has been a catalyst for much of my self acceptance and self confidence.
3. How to read subtle body language cues. Working in the industry one on one with clients heightened my sensory acuity so much so that I can detect the tiniest shifts of energy in the room and have the behavioural flexibility to immediately alter my session to make sure my client is comfortable and this ability has served me immensely outside of the dungeon too.

Do you have a particular set of skills/ interest or employment outside of the industry?
Yes! I’m a Hypnotherapist, Tantric embodiment guide and freelance writer for www.cherrydtv.com outside of the dungeon. I’m super interested in the power of language and how words are used to alter perceptions, thoughts and behaviour. I love etymology, dancing and entheogen experimentation for personal development.

What is the most out there request you have received from a client and how much were they willing to pay?
Oh god, so many. Stepping on snails (would never ever do this) $500+
Anal fisting with deep heat $500+
Total beat down sessions with face punching until bruised. $1000+

What is something you have said no to doing in the industry?
Age regression sessions, blood play and permanent harm.

What are your hard limits or boundaries in the industry?
Hard limits are age regression, blood, adult baby, and permanent marks. Boundaries are: Body worship, topping from the bottom, and consent non consent.

Can you describe how working in the industry makes you feel or how it has impacted your life?
The most powerful moments of My life have been whilst working as a Dominatrix. I feel confident, desired and adored, like a modern day Cleopatra. The industry has taught me so much about myself and the psychology of sex.

What was your first job like?
Extremely awkward and wobbly, like a baby dear straight out of the womb trying to use it’s legs for the first time.

What motivated you to begin in the industry?
Financial independence and the desire to move out of home.

Whats one piece of advice you can give to someone thinking about starting in the industry?
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO. Money feels good but so does good mental health! Be kind and support your fellow workers.

What would it take for you to stay in the industry and what would have to happen for you to leave? Money and appreciative clients make me stay in the industry. For me to completely leave, I want to be making consistent money with my embodiment workshops.

What would you say to people who think that this is not a real job?
I would not say anything because I’ve learnt that it’s hard enough to change your own beliefs about something let alone someone else.

How do you re-energise outside of work?
Ecstatic dance, Santa Maria and Yoga.

Mistress Arabella

How do you avoid burnout?
Consistent self nurturing, regular therapy sessions and avoiding work if I’m genuinely not keen for it.

It is inevitable at times to avoid bad situations at work. Have you ever had a bad experience at work and how did you manage it?
Of course! I’ve handled tough situations by reinstating my boundaries and the rules for the session. If they can not adhere to my protocol I end the session then and there and give a refund depending on how much time has been spent inside the session.

Do you feel the need to keep your physical appearance well maintained at all times?
Depends on the client I’m seeing. Some prefer me to look natural with no makeup and others prefer the glam look. I do however keep my body hair maintained and get fillers in my lips.

What lengths do you go to to maintain your appearance and how much would you spend?
I get my lips filled once every year which is $500 New outfits are an estimate of $100 per piece with shoes upwards of $150. Other than that, I’m simple and keep costs low.

Do you make your own costumes or do you outsource them? What is your go to costume/outfit of choice? *I outsource them from online stores for fetish apparel.

Do you use ways to alter your physical appearance ie: Botox/ Surgery/ Steroids and why?
Filler in my lips and general exercise.

Has there ever been any moments you have been scared within the industry
Yes, I have. But in those instances it has I have been the cause and everything turned out fine.

How do you respond when you encounter a negative client, what strategies do you use to defuse a situation?
I use my communication skills and firmly outline my boundaries as well as what I do and what I do not do and my general session etiquette.

How does working in the industry affect your dating life?
Working in the industry and dating is hard if they’re not poly or are insecure and experience jealousy.

How did you come out to your family and friends regarding working in the industry?
I told my family in person and I came out on social media to the rest of the people in my life. I’ve never experienced anything but support and I’m so grateful for that because other girls are not so lucky.

What is one positive and one negative you have taken from the industry
Positive: Working your own hours and making your own rules.
Negative: The financial inconsistency.
